Russ Palmer is an international music therapist, songwriter, musician and writer. His first CD was released in 2009, titled ‘Warm Summer Days’, followed by his DVD titled ‘Pulse’ and a further DVD in 2012 titled ‘Musical Perception of a deafblind cochlear implant user’. Russ has published academic articles on musical perception using cochlear implants and musical haptices, and was involved in the development of a portable music floor known as the Tactile Sounds Sytem TM.
In this interview with the ADBN Chair Dr. Peter Simcock, Russ talks about his life and career, and treats the listener to an impromptu performance of his song ‘Deafblind Blues’.
