Sensory impairments affect millions across the WHO Afro region, with far-reaching implications for education, employment, social participation and health outcomes. The WHA 78th resolution provides a renewed mandate to prioritise prevention, strengthen service delivery and ensure coordinated action.
The session will bring together WHO country office, NCD focal points, MOH counterparts, Eye & Ear and Hearing Care focal points, clinicians, and partners to highlight the regional burden of sensory impairments, present technical tools, and exchange country experiences.
