Global Education Campaign Highlights Study on Deafblind Education in Tanzania

As part of the Global Education Campaign, DbI is sharing insights from the “Voices of Hope” research study, which focuses on the educational experiences of deafblind children in Tanzania. This study explores both the challenges and opportunities faced by deafblind children in low-income communities.

The study highlights significant barriers including lack of assistive technologies, limited parental and institutional support, and social stigma, while also documenting resilience among children and caregivers.

It offers practical recommendations for inclusive education, improved teacher training, access to health care, and community awareness to empower deafblind children to access and benefit from education.
