Highlighting the Experiences of Mothers with Deafblindness

The project aims to reduce discrimination and attitudinal bias among healthcare professionals—including doctors, nurses, psychologists, and midwives—when providing care to women with disabilities throughout all stages of motherhood.

The second edition of the ASSIST newsletter, published today (see below), shines a spotlight on one of the most overlooked groups in both disability and maternal health discussions: mothers with deafblindness. It features research findings conducted by WFDB in collaboration with our national member in Croatia, DODIR.

This is groundbreaking work, as there is currently very little data or research available on the experiences of mothers with deafblindness. The newsletter is available in PDF, Word, and plain text formats and in English, Spanish, Italian, Greek, and French. You can access it here:
