Research never stops! This particular study conducted by the team researchers from different parts of the world aims to develop a global definition of deafblindness.
Current definitions of deafblindness don’t always translate well or reflect the diverse experiences of people worldwide. Deafblind International together with World Federation of Deafblind ensures voices from all WHO regions and various communication methods are included.
A global definition would improve awareness and recognition.
